01Summary
02What Ledg is
Ledg is software that helps Canadian corporations:
- Record and categorize transactions.
- Calculate GST, HST, and provincial sales taxes based on the rules and rates you configure.
- Keep track of upcoming filing deadlines we are aware of.
- Produce reports, summaries, and exports you can hand to your accountant or submit yourself.
These outputs are generated from the data you enter. Their accuracy depends entirely on the accuracy of your data and the correctness of the rules you set up.
03What Ledg is not
Ledg is not:
- A chartered professional accounting firm, a tax preparation firm, a bookkeeping service, or a licensed financial advisor.
- Certified, approved, endorsed, or affiliated with the Canada Revenue Agency, CPA Canada, or any provincial CPA body.
- A NETFILE, EFILE, or other government-certified tax transmission software.
- A substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional reviewing your specific situation.
Nothing shown in the Service, including calculations, categorizations, suggested tax codes, and deadline reminders, constitutes accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice. Using Ledg does not create a client relationship between you and any accountant or advisor.
04Your responsibility
You, and no one else, are responsible for:
- The accuracy and completeness of the data you enter.
- The correctness of the categories, tax codes, and provincial rules you select.
- Reviewing outputs before you submit them.
- Meeting all filing deadlines imposed by the CRA or any other authority, regardless of whether Ledg displayed a reminder.
- Engaging a qualified professional before making material accounting, tax, financial, or legal decisions.
- Retaining source documents for the periods required by Canadian tax law.
Ledg is a tool. It does not replace your obligation to exercise reasonable care, nor the professional judgment of a CPA or lawyer.
05AI-assisted features
Some features of the Service use artificial intelligence to speed up data entry, including receipt text extraction and category suggestions. AI models can produce inaccurate or missing information. Suggestions are presented for your review, not as final answers. You are responsible for reviewing, correcting, and confirming every AI-assisted suggestion before relying on it.
06When to hire a professional
We recommend engaging a qualified CPA, tax professional, or lawyer, as appropriate, for any of the following:
- Year-end T2 corporate tax filing.
- Complex GST/HST or provincial sales-tax situations.
- Payroll, source deductions, and related compliance.
- Significant corporate transactions (financing, sale, reorganization).
- Audits, disputes, or correspondence with the CRA.
- Cross-border operations or revenue from outside Canada.
- Any situation where you are not sure how to categorize, file, or report something.
07Regulatory affiliations
Ledg is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by the Canada Revenue Agency, CPA Canada, the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, or any other regulator. Any references to the CRA, provincial tax authorities, or specific filing forms are for context only and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
