Accountant handoff pack

One zip your accountant opens clean.

Ledg keeps your books. It does not file your returns yet, so at year end an accountant still does, and this is what they will ask you for. The handoff pack is one download built from the entries you confirmed: general ledger, trial balance, GST/PST summary by quarter, and bank reconciliation. It works for corporations and sole proprietors, and the README states your filing profile.

No credit card. Free with no entry limit. Built around Canadian tax rules.

What's in the zip.

General ledger (general-ledger.csv)

Every confirmed entry, one row per transaction, with entry code, date, vendor, category, amount, GST, PST, province, account, and status. Sortable by any column in Excel, Numbers, or Sheets.

Trial balance (trial-balance.csv)

Debit and credit totals per account and per category. Each account shows a closing balance to check against the bank statement; category nets show the effect on profit and loss at a glance. In Ledg, each built-in category carries its CRA GIFI code, and your connected AI agent can list each category with its code. A corporation's pack also carries a GIFI roll-up by code, covering the dates printed in the README. For sole proprietors, categories map loosely to T2125 Part 4 expense lines.

GST/PST summary (gst-pst-summary.csv)

One row per quarter and province: GST/HST collected, input tax credits claimed, and net owing, with PST collected and paid kept separate. A BC business with Ontario clients shows a row for each province. Owner deposits, loan proceeds, and other balance-sheet movements are left out, so the totals cover sales and expenses only.

Bank reconciliation (bank-reconciliation.csv)

Per-account running balance timeline. Opening anchor at the top, every confirmed entry with its balance-after, closing balance at the bottom. Your accountant can scroll through and tick against statements.

README + filing profile

A short README at the top of the zip names the business, the date range, the entity type (corporation or sole proprietor), the registration flags (GST/HST, PST, payroll, dividends, Quick Method), and the sign conventions. Your accountant knows what they're looking at before they open a single CSV.

Receipts in your own Google Drive

The zip holds no receipt files. Each receipt lives in your own Drive folder, under Receipts and then the year, named with the same entry code that appears in the general ledger. Share that folder with your accountant if they want the originals. Cancelling Ledg never strands them.

Or give your accountant a seat on your books.

Free, on every plan

Your accountant never pays and never counts against your plan, on Free or on Solo. Invite them by email from Settings and they get their own sign-in, even if other Ledg customers have invited them too.

Read-only, with no way around it

They can open the ledger, your statements and reports, and build the handoff pack themselves whenever they want a fresh copy. They cannot change a number in your books, and a banner across the top of their screen says so on every page.

Yours to revoke

The invite link expires after seven days, and you can end their access at any time. Your activity log shows you what they opened and when.

Questions next to the books

A shared message thread sits on your workspace, so a question about one line gets answered beside the entry instead of in a mail chain with a screenshot attached.

Filing your returns from Ledg is planned and not available yet. Until it ships, your accountant files, and the work you confirm through the year is what they start from. Read more about where Ledg is going.
